LeadLearnLive: MissionAccomplished!
The mission of LeadLearnLive was to "establish, raise awareness and support degree and/or certificate inclusive post-secondary education programs for students with Intellectual/Developmental disabilities in Oklahoma that increase independence, social skills, academic abilities and career development".
We are proud to share that LeadLearnLive has fulfilled its mission!
THE RESULTS
Thanks to the generous support from so many who shared our vision and determination for Oklahoma to have college programs available for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, LeadLearnLive provided funding and guidance that was instrumental in launching two programs:
The RiverHawks Scholar Program at Northeastern Oklahoma State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma
Opportunity Orange Scholars at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma
These are extraordinary programs that change lives every day. Their success demonstrates the power of inclusive education and the opportunities it creates for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Our work has also helped pave the way for a statewide initiative to Educate, Assist, Advocate, and Collaborate in support of inclusive post-secondary education programs, led by the OKIPSE Alliance (Oklahoma Inclusive Post Secondary Education). First and foremost, the LeadLearnLive Board of Directors gives thanks to Almighty God. We are also deeply grateful to the many donors and supporters who have been part of this journey through the years.
